Budget Act 55 Annual Notice Requirements

The new 2015-17 state budget (2015 Wisconsin Act 55) imposes a number of additional notice requirements on school districts. These new requirements include that districts provide parents and guardians with notifications about:

1. The academic standards adopted by the School Board for that school year;

2. A copy of the school’s accountability report (report card) as well as the most recent ranking level assigned to each school within the school district boundaries; and

3. A list of the educational options available to children who reside in the pupil’s resident school district.

Academic Standards Adopted by the School Board

Please note, for the 2015-16 school year, our district has adopted the Common Core State Standards for Math and English Language Arts, the Wisconsin State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards for Science, and Wisconsin State Standards for all other content areas (see links below).

School Accountability Reports (report card) and Rankings

The School Report Cards are posted on the district’s website and were shared as part the September 16, 2014 Ripon Area School District Board Meeting. The most recent rankings of each of the schools are as follows:

1. Ripon High School - Exceeded Expectations with a score of 78.0;
2. Lumen Charter High School – Alternate Rating as Satisfactory;
3. Ripon Middle School - Exceeded Expectations with a score of 73.3;
4. Catalyst Charter Middle School - Exceeded Expectations with a score of 78.3;
5. Murray Park Elementary School - Exceeded Expectations with a score of 74.2;
6. Quest Charter Elementary School - Significantly Exceeded Expectations with a score of 88.7;
7. Barlow Park Elementary School - Exceeded Expectations with a score of 74.4; 
8. Journey Charter Elementary School - Alternate Rating as Satisfactory.

Educational Options

The following is a list of the educational options available to children who reside in the Ripon Area School District:

1. Public Schools - Barlow Park Elementary School, Murray Park Elementary School, Ripon Middle School and Ripon High School;
2. Charter Schools – Journey Charter Elementary School, Quest Charter Elementary School, Catalyst Charter Middle School, and Lumen Charter High School;
3. Full-time Open Enrollment;
