Title I

How does Title I help Ripon students?

The purpose of the Title 1 program is to enable all children to meet the State reading standards.   Federal funds are received by the district to provide supplementary services to children identified as being in “greatest need” of reading assistance.

Under the Title I legislation:

  • Schools and families form partnerships to help students who are selected to participate.
  • Title I teachers design programs that involve children in a variety of learning experiences.  Teachers provide specialized instruction to reinforce and supplement classroom learning.
  • Parents are encouraged to participate in Title I family events that support the joy of learning together.
