Lumen Charter High School provides a learning atmosphere suited to develop the intellectual, physical, and social capabilities of each student. The curriculum is individualized and standards-based focusing on relevant skills that prepare students for college and the workforce.

161 Years of Service to Ripon Kids Being Honored on May 20


Eight dedicated employees of the Ripon Area School District who are retiring in June will be honored by the Board of Education on Monday, May 20, at a public reception prior to the start of that evening’s school board meeting.  The reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. in RHS room 167.  The public is invited to share in the refreshments and memories.  The Board will begin its meeting by recognizing each retiree with a tribute and a gift.  


Together, these retiring employees have contributed 161 years of service to Ripon’s youth and community.  Retirees include BPES Reading Teacher Linda Fleschner (17 years of Ripon service); BPES Early Childhood Teacher Debra Konecny (15 years); Speech/Language Pathologist Teleane Zieth (9 years); BPES Instructional Aide Barbara Stellmacher (26 years); MPES Grade 5 Teacher Jim Borell (34 years); RHS Science Teacher Mark Resch (35 years); Student Services Director Jan Cope-Kasten (16 years); and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Richard Zimman (9 years).

Board Selects New Officers

The Ripon Board of Education elected officers for the 2013-14 term at its annual reorganization meeting in accordance with state statute.  David Scott was elected unanimously to lead the Board as president.  He follows out-going president Andy Lyke who declined to serve another year.

Other Board officers elected were David Olson as vice president, Gary Rodman as treasurer, and Barb Schultz as clerk.  Heather Hartling was appointed the CESA representative.  Tom Stellmacher was appointed to be the Board's representative to the Education Foundation of Ripon.  All officers and appointees serve one-year terms.
