B R A V E = Building Resiliency Assets and Values in Everyone
BRAVE provides after-school programming at Murray Park/Quest Elementary School (MP/Q) for students in grades 3-5. The program runs Monday through Thursday each day that school is in session and is provided at an affordable fee. Morning Enrichment and Friday after school programming is provided at Barlow Park Elementary School at no cost for students through the 21st Century CCLC grant.
Registration
Registration for the BRAVE program will take place prior to a new session in August and December each school year. New students are welcomed to register for the program at any point during the school year by contacting the site coordinator. Students are welcome to attend as often as they are able to from one to five days per week.
Morning Enrichment
Morning Enrichment is provided for students in grades 4K-5 at Barlow Park Elementary School. Each day, students in the morning enrichment program will partake in classes that offer a variety of activities and challenges. Students will have enrichment activities focused on Movement, Literacy, Arts and Crafts, and Math each week. Our typical ‘Fun Fridays’ will also remain in place for students to exhibit voice and choice in their learning and activities. Students may arrive at Barlow Park Elementary between 6:45 am and 7:15 am each morning. MP/Q students will be bussed to school following programming each morning. A district transportation form must be on file for each student.
After School Enrichment
Students will be provided with a nutritious snack at the beginning of programming each day. Following snack, academic support and tutoring will be provided to each student from 3:45-4:30pm M-TH. Students may participate in a wide variety of academic games, activities, or utilize resources such as 1:1 homework help with teachers. Students will work in small groups to complete homework or practice skills that they are learning in their grade levels. Students will also participate in a wide variety of activities through the after-school program. The classes are provided on a rotating schedule and are based on the voice and choice of students within the program. Students will choose their classes each month on site. After School programming is provided at Murrary Park/Quest Elementary School Monday through Thursday until 5:15pm. Friday programming is located at Barlow Park Elementary School until 5:00pm. MP/Q students will be bussed to BPES at the end of the school day and must have a district transportation form on file.

Inclement Weather
In the event of inclement weather BRAVE will be canceled if school is canceled for the day or if school is released early. The only other instance when BRAVE would be canceled is if district administration canceled all after school activities. If all after school events are canceled, families will be notified via the district website and infinite campus messenger as well as the usual television and radio outlets.
If the weather is questionable, families may certainly pick up their child(ren) early or request that they not stay for BRAVE due to the weather. We ask that the school office and or the BRAVE site coordinator be contacted promptly to ensure that schedule changes are communicated to the student prior to the end of the school day. Office staff and BRAVE site coordinators will be in communication about pick up changes and whether a student should not stay for BRAVE.
