Ripon Area School District Superintendent Ron Rivard is pleased to announce the recommendation of Mr. Jim DeBroux as the next principal of Ripon High School, pending approval by the Board of Education on Monday, March 16, 2026.
“I am truly excited for the opportunity to serve as the next principal of Ripon High School,” said Mr. DeBroux. “The time I spent in the district during the interview process only strengthened my hope to become part of this school and community, and I look forward to partnering with students, staff, and families to help every student excel.”
Mr. DeBroux is being recommended for approval following a comprehensive districtwide search process. A total of 18 candidates applied for the position, with eight selected to participate in initial interviews with Superintendent Rivard. From that group, three finalists, including Mr. DeBroux, were invited to participate in a Day in the District on March 4.
During their visit, the finalists interviewed with Ripon Area School District administrators and Ripon High School staff, received a guided tour from current students, and participated in a public Meet & Greet which allowed parents, staff, and community members to get to know each of the candidates and their vision. The feedback that was gathered throughout the Day in the District helped Mr. Rivard determine which finalist would be the best match to lead Ripon High School beginning July 1, 2026.
“I am appreciative of all the people who dedicated their time, energy and efforts to provide valuable feedback about each of our finalists,” said Mr. Rivard. “Jim DeBroux was clearly our top candidate. I couldn’t be more excited to have the opportunity to add an administrator of Mr. DeBroux’s caliber to Ripon High School and our district. I eagerly look forward to our next Board Meeting on March 16.”
Currently, Mr. DeBroux is the middle/high school principal at Gibraltar Secondary School in Fish Creek. He previously served as the middle/high school athletic director at Gibraltar for four years. DeBroux began his administrative career as the activities director at Random Lake High School, a position he held for eight years. He holds a Master of Science in Educational Policy and Leadership from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh, a Master of Arts in Teaching History from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Marquette University.
