Step One: Open Enrollment Process
Families who reside in the Ripon Area School District can skip this step and go directly to Step Two.
Families that currently reside outside of the Ripon Area School District radius must complete the open enrollment process. Apply for open enrollment through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI). The open enrollment application period for the 2025-26 school year is February 3 - April 30, 2025 at 4:00p.m.
If the open enrollment deadline has passed, complete the Alternative Open Enrollment Application through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction after July 1, 2025. Alternative Applications can be sent to Kristi Schmitt via email. Please wait patiently as it can take up to 10 days for applications to be processed and a decision to be made. Families will receive notification of the application decision via email.
Step Two: Charter School Application
If the student is a district resident or your open enrollment application has been approved please apply to Odyssey Academy of Virtual Learning using this Charter School Application Form. Families will receive notification of the application decision via email.

Step Three: District Enrollment Process
District Enrollment for new families (either resident or newly accepted open-enrolled) is the next step. This is done through the Families tab on our website on the Enroll New Student page. It is not recommended to use your cell phone or mobile device for the District Enrollment process. If you have any questions along the way please contact Kristi Schmitt by email or at (920) 748-4600
Open enrolled students must receive an ACCEPTANCE NOTICE prior to completing the District Enrollment at the link above.
Students currently enrolled in a brick & mortar school of the Ripon Area School District must complete the In-District School Transfer Form prior to Monday, September 18, 2024 to enroll for first semester. Any applications received after September 18 will be placed on a waitlist for second-semester enrollment.

Step Four: Additional Paperwork
Once the online district enrollment is completed you may wish to complete the Free/Reduced Application or may need to turn in some additional items if you did not do so online. Please return any additional documents to Kristi Schmitt at 1120 Metomen Street in Ripon or via email.

Step Five: Welcome to Odyssey!
Once all enrollment steps have been completed you will receive a "Welcome to Odyssey" email. Please be patient as it can take up to three business days for enrollments to be processed. The "Welcome to Odyssey" email will contain information so you can begin researching your child's curriculum and steps to creating their Individualized Learning Plan (ILP).
