The following items are the components for a 3rd and 4th grade student to participate in Odyssey Academy. This academic outline gives you a general overview of the year. Google Classroom will be used to communicate the specifics of these projects and tasks.
Reading
- Online District Reading Assessments - iReady (fall, winter, spring)
- Quarterly Online Portfolio Skills Assessment (based on grade level standards)
- Reading conferences w/teacher, as requested
- Complete an independent book/reading log (in Google Classroom)
Online reading support - IF teacher recommends based upon student performance

- Virtual class focused on reading skills
Writing
- Quarterly assignments in specific writing genres
- Writer's Workshop Conferences with teacher (optional, required if needed)

Students will choose from the grade level project guide (or create their own project with guidance from the teacher or based on their home curriculum) each semester. Topics covered inlude: Inquiry Practices, Behavior Science, Economics, Geography, Political Science and History.
