LIVE (Synchronous) Courses
- LIVE courses allow students to develop knowledge and skills by actively engaging in real-world and personally meaningful units and projects.
- LIVE courses are offered in all core subject areas:
- English/Language Arts
- Math
- Science
- Social Studies
- LIVE courses are offered for the following electives:
- Art (weekly)
- Spanish (8th grade only)
- Students meet twice a week with other students and teachers through virtual meetings to discuss assigned topics and to present the work they've been doing.
- Odyssey teachers provide instruction via Zoom/recorded videos, provide feedback and assign coursework.
Asynchronous Courses
- Asynchronous courses allow students to develop knowledge and skills by engaging in real-world and personally meaningful units and projects at a time/pace that works for them.
- Asynchronous courses are offered in all core subject areas:
- English/Language Arts
- Math
- Science
- Social Studies
- Asynchronous course are offered for the following electives:
- Art
- Music
- Physical Education
- Students will be required to view two weekly recorded 60 minutes classes and complete up to three hours of homework per week. Timely work completion will count as attendance.
- All work will be submitted through Google Classroom and should be submitted on time.
Online Accelerate Education Courses
- Students wishing to take courses online may do so through Accelerate Education.
- Through Accelerate, students have access to elective courses that are not taught by an Odyssey staff member.
- Accelerate courses are self-guided and self-paced. Students have access to all course materials through an online platform and complete coursework and assignments at a pace and schedule that works best for them.
- Odyssey teachers and Accelerate instructors are available for support in these courses.
Accelerate Course Options for Odyssey Students
Courses at Local School (Part-Time Open Enrollment)
- Students have the flexibility to take up to two courses per semester at their local middle/high school.
